The day it was decided to fill in the ditch, 4 inches of rain fell, Cody was a trooper and finished the job.
Back to finishing one bay of the new shop so we could start moving stuff out of the old shop/shed building so we could tear it down.
Parts of the old shop going up in flames!
Moving over to the second bay, again all new roof joists and metal for the roof!
When I started this project, one of the goals was to get a couple of "level spots". Once the block wall started going up and a level line, laid out, I was amazed at the amount of the slope we had been working on for so many years.
Over 20 yards of gravel so far and we need more! All shoveled by hand. I've got some good help!
Jon, Corina, Cody, and Lorelei took a day from Spring Break to help shovel gravel!
Memorial Day weekend, Jon spent the weekend at home and helped me move the last large items out of the old shop building. Now to finish tearing it down and re-building! This will be the toughest part of this project.
Of course it hasn't been ALL work. We have managed to squeeze in a fishing trip or two or eight.
In January we made a trip to Tillamook bay.
Lorelei with a nice one from Stoller's Pond the last day of January.
February we made it back over to the coast and camped out.
Jon trying out his new hammock.
Cody making a candle?
Jon and Adam cooking up some breakfast.
March, back again to the coast. Took the boat this time. Adam, Jon and myself and we found a few fish!
Of course there was some fishing in April and May!
For May Day this year, Cody composed a song. He and two of his talented classmates from Amity HS performed at the May Day celebration.
