Over the weekend we set about to replace the aging (ok so it collapsed under our feet) footbridge across the creek. This is a handy shortcut for us when accessing the roundy round trail. Jon and I cut and hauled these logs with the help of our trailer but we had to position them in place with manual labor....Ohhh my aching (aging) back.

Cody was helping too and he was the recipient of the days worst injury.

Below Cody puts the finishing touches on the bridge.

While down working on the bridge the hummingbirds were out in force. At one time zooming about 6 inches in front of Jon's face at blazing speed. I managed to get a picture.

Take care all!

Camping out on the knoll.....

So last Saturday Cody says that he would like to camp out up on the knoll. I say sure. To my surprise Lorelei pipes up and says that she may sleep out with us. Now Lorelei's idea of camping out usually has a soft bed and a bathroom close by attached to it. Lorelei decided that if we put a self inflating camp pad on top of the air mattress, then put another sleeping bag on top of that and then put her sleeping bag on top of all that, she might be comfortable????? So I tell Cody he needs to make a couple of more trips up to the knoll to haul bedding supplies. We had fun but Lorelei didn't sleep very well. Of course she doesn't know it but it was because I put a pea between the ground and the first air mattress!

In the morning Cody and I made breakfast.

A few fun pictures to end your week.....

This morning at the shop this scene greeted me as I opened the door.

On Wednesday on my way home from playing basketball I stopped and got this picture.

Lorelei works out! Wow look at those muscles.

4th of July weekend!

Adam came home for the weekend! He decided he wanted homemade strawberry ice cream. So
Saturday he set about to make it. The result was awesome! We drove into Mcminnville Saturday night to watch fireworks. We came home and the boys lit off some that we had got for Cody. Lorelei looked outside and says "wow, that one is going higher than any firework I have seen" then she says that the boys must have "altered" it and then says something to the effect that I must have taught them how to do it! Now where in the heck would she get an idea like that?

On Sunday we took the boys out to lunch (a tradition of ours for their good grades). Then in the afternoon Lorelei, Adam, Cody, Queenie and I headed for the river with the boat. We spent the afternoon fishing, swimming and relaxing. We cooked hot dogs and had a great time.

Hot dogs on the beach:

On Friday the 3rd Lorelei and I headed over to the annual Civil War reenactment at the local state park. Lots of neat stuff to see.

There were complete households set up to depict life in the 1860's.

There were really big guns and lots of shooting. (AR-AR sound like Tim the tool man)

There were the latest fashions on display.....

There was good music.

There was a good looking photographer wandering around too!

The entire gallery can be seen here.
