Lots of rain, a new to us boat and fishing!

We've been short of rain this season but I think we've made up for it this last week. It's been pouring! In Feb. we upgraded (I hope) to a bigger boat. It's a 2002 model with a windshield and a full top (which Lorelei really likes). Adam and I have been working on it every weekend trying to get it up to safety standards so we can take it out in the ocean. We've moved the seats around and added storage. We are now adding a battery and an additional bilge pump. We put in a VHF radio. We've had it out twice now, working out the bugs. So far I think we're going to like it!

Lorelei on the maiden voyage trying out the Captains Seat. She found out it's not adjustable so we threw a couple of cushions behind her. Note to self, replace Captains Seat.
The boys with Adam at the helm.

Adam driving the new ride onto the trailer.

Feb. was Member Appreciation month at the Air Museum. We got to tour Air Force II

I told Lorelei to call ahead and move out our reservations at the country club.

Inside Lorelei took up with some shady characters. It's a good thing I had my light saber.

Jon was home for only 4 days on Spring Break. We headed for the coast one of the days. We had great weather and we found some fish! Lorelei with a keeper greenling.
Adam with a nice rock bass.
Jon with a couple of nice ones!

On Monday before Jon left for Seattle we went over to our farmer friend's pond. The bass were biting!

It's been a busy Spring thus far. Lorelei is working a one on one with a sweet 5th grader that suddenly last year started having seizures. The doctors don't know why but suddenly it's like you just flip the switch to her body off and she goes down. It's stressful and Lorelei follows her around all day trying to keep her from hurting herself when her body suddenly shuts off.
Adam and Pam are in Vancouver WA and working their E-bay business. Jon is getting ready to finish up at Seattle Pacific! Cody is doing great. He's in a quartet that will be singing at the annual May Day show put on by Amity HS. He has a piano recital next month also!
I'm way behind in my yard work but oh well.
That's about all for now!

Snow..............

On Thursday the 6th it started snowing. I heard the forecast on Wednesday night and decided to take the Expedition to work (I carpool with my boss and it was my turn to drive). I tossed in the chains, a shovel and some extra clothes and gloves. Work is 32 miles away. It started snowing and sticking around noon. Our normal 45 minute drive home turned into 1-1/2 hrs but no major mishaps. A couple of cars in the ditches. Once I got home it continued snowing all day Friday (my day off) and most of the day Saturday. We got 10 inches in all. The most we have had since 2004!
Most of the weekend has been spent indoors with board games and watching the Walton's but we did manage a little outside stuff too!

A couple of Lorelei's shots.

A couple of mine, having a little fun with HDR
A Redwood in the snow.
Cody, the truck needs some attention so we can try and make it to town.

A birdhouse I made out of an old mailbox had an interesting pattern on it from the snow.

We played scrabble, pinochle, chess and Settlers of Katan all weekend! At least the power stayed on, now the job of digging out and trying to make it to work.

That's about all for now, time to start digging.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Jon was home from SPU on Christmas break for nearly 3 weeks. Adam and Pam were here for a few days .  Corina was able to stop by for a few days and I had some time off from work so it was a fun Christmas season!

Chef Adam made a yummy cheesecake for his mom and cooked his own birthday dinner!

Christmas Day!

Jon and I got to spend some time together out in the shop making a couple of things for Lorelei. Jon designed and built this cool mug rack.

Jon also helped me with a back splash\organizer thingie for the master bathroom. Here's a before and after picture.

The Saturday after Christmas we headed over to the coast for a fun day!
Cody got a new camera and some gear for Christmas and he was anxious to try it out.

Here's one I got from the day. That's Adam on the left, fishing off the rocks.

Right before sunset the clouds parted and we had a beautiful sunset.

The kids did some geocaching!
 Adam and I fished.
Adam did the catching, I did the fishing.

Friday before last Cody and I headed out from the house to look for a vantage point to capture the sunset.
Here's a couple I managed to get.

That's about all for now!
