June is allergies, Father's Day and Cody's birthday!

Yes.....June is the month we most suffer from allergies. Only Pam and Jon are immune. The rest of us suffer in varying degrees. The beginning of July it gets better so only another week or so! Father's day was quiet as usual. Adam and Pam were here on Saturday so we had some good food. Lorelei made a yummy berry cobbler to go along with steak and kabobs!

Early summer also means lots of flowers around our place. Lorelei and Cody enjoy the flowers.

And of course June would not be complete without the youngest member of the clan moving up a notch on the age scale. Cody turned 15 on Thursday prompting Lorelei to make a yummy batch of peanut butter cookies!

For Cody's birthday we got him a full size keyboard. He's been doing well with the piano and he had outgrown the smaller keyboard he was using. Adam helped us out and went to one of the big music stores in Portland to test out and purchase the keyboard. He and Pam showed up on Saturday with it and the boys promptly tried it out.

June is also strawberry month around our house! Pam went out while we were all working on other stuff and came back from the garden with this load. Lorelei made, home made shortcake to go with these.....yum!

So it all started last week when I changed the oil in Lorelei's car and I noticed her serpentine belt was cracking. I mentioned to Adam that when he was here maybe he could help me change it. He says "sure and if I'm going to be greasy anyway I might as well change my transmission seal that's been leaking". So of course what was suppose to be an easy morning of working on a couple of cars turned into almost a full day of working on three cars! Lorelei's serpentine belt turned out to be a piece of cake. Adam had a couple of issues with the seal and while he was doing that I started pulling the wheel off of the Civic to investigate a squeal which turned out to be worn inner brake pads! A trip into town for parts and we finally finished up about dinner time. All cars back on the road.
 Pam supervising the mechanics.
It was all just too much for Queenie!

So it's going to be a busy week getting caught up on yard work and getting ready for vacation! The truck has been checked out, new bearings and tires on the boat trailer. I think we are about ready to travel.
That's about all for now.
