Spring Break fishing, family and Jon goes to SPU

My brother Craig (Brian) flew in from Phoenix last week to attend a local auction here in the Portland area. Between his commitments we were able to squeeze in some fishing and family stuff! Below "uncle" hooks up with a perch while Adam watches.

We had a great day over on the coast. We brought back a total of 7 fish that we put in the smoker! We stopped at J's fish n chips on the way home for an awesome dinner.

Below, Lorelei and Pam look on as uncle goes over some things that he brought for Adam to put on e-bay.

After a fun filled weekend it was time to take Jon to Seattle Pacific University  , we drove up through a driving rain on Tuesday. We left early in the morning and stopped by to pick up Corina. Cody rode along too! We toured the campus and had lunch at the burger place across from school. Then we hauled everything up 3 flights of stairs, to Jon's dorm room.

Lorelei was not a happy camper saying "so long" to her son.

We had an awesome week of fun with the family. Adam and Pam were here from Portland. Jon and Corina were around and of course my brother being here just capped our spring break. We went out to eat, we stayed up late and of course we did some fishing!
That's about all for now.

Tim Hawkins

Friday night we went to see Tim Hawkins! What a riot he is. Even though his fame is growing he is still a down to earth regular guy who happens to have a whole bunch of talent. We went "VIP" for this event and got tickets that allowed us in early for dessert and a special appearance by Tim. He came in and answered questions and was very funny improving. We got a seat right up front at a table with a wonderful and fun family from Canada that had driven (7) hours to see the show!

Jon, Cody and Lorelei at our table waiting for Tim
Once dessert was over we were shown to our "VIP" seats for the show.
Hawkins is an awesome musician and singer besides being funny. He combines the two for a show that you will not forget.

The show went on for over an hour and even though it was his second show of the night, Tim was to come out and sign autographs and allow pictures. It was late and we didn't stay around for that. It was an awesome evening!

Another nice weekend....

Sorry about the lack of pictures of late! Lorelei and my shutter fingers are getting itchy. Last Friday evening Adam and Pam drove in from Portland for a visit. It was awesome to see them and catch up on things. Pam is working hard at school as well as a full time job. Adam’s job is going well and he is also teaching guitar lessons.
The kids all stayed up late watching movies. On Saturday we awoke to a chilly morning with snow still on the ground from earlier in the week when a storm dropped about two inches on us. Adam and I went outside around 10:00 am and took a couple of rifles for some target practice. We were just shooting small caliber low noise rounds. Cody, Jon and Pam joined us for a while and we had a blast! Pam and Cody got cold and headed into the house, Jon had to leave for work, so Adam and I shot for a while longer before lunch.
In the afternoon we decided to load up and head down the hill to visit with Jon and get something hot to drink at the “Amity Foods and Coffee House” where Jon works. We sat around and talked, Lorelei walked through the store and picked up some things so we could have stir fry for dinner. Jon made us up some nice drinks (he is quite the barista) Cody got a movie out of the movie machine. We chatted with local friends as they came into the store. A friend and fellow photographer stopped in to pick something up and we chatted about the big fire the day before in Amity. Click HERE for the story in the paper , she was there and took some incredible pictures of the destruction. You can see Marilyn's pictures HERE  .
We headed back up the hill and the kids helped with dinner, Adam played guitar. Adam and Pam headed home around 8:00 p.m. and we were sad to see them go. They will be back for a few days during Spring Break!
