Spring bass 2013!

Lots of chores around the place that need to get done, but we took yesterday afternoon to head over to the pond. Cody went along and hung out on shore while Lorelei and I loaded gear in the little boat that stays tied up to the shore. The skies were blue and filled with migrating geese that dropped "bombs" all around us for the afternoon. Luckily there were no direct hits but there were some close calls. There were ducks and red winged blackbirds that kept us entertained as well as some turtles......and oh yeah....there were a few bass too!

Turtles enjoying the sunshine.

Okay, so who caught the biggest fish?

Another beautiful sunset. Lorelei took this one on the way home.

February is rolling along......

We are all doing well. The winter is winding down and I have not finished all my projects. Adam and Jon are both doing great. We are looking forward to Spring Break and having Jon home for a week. He's doing well at Seattle Pacific. He's very busy with studies, working and keeping track of a floor of college boys. Adam is teaching chess and selling things on e-bay which keeps him quite busy. He's planning on returning to school in the fall. Cody is doing great. He's learning piano, playing his guitar and violin. He is also teaching in the youth group at church! Lorelei is subbing quite a bit and she's still enjoying it (mostly).

Our nearly 14 year old Honda with 225,000 miles was getting tired so we picked up a new to us 7 year old Honda with 75,000 miles. It drives nice and has some fancy stuff, including navigation with voice controlled features.

Below, Lorelei's friends took her out on Monday for a belated birthday lunch!

For Christmas Lorelei and I each got new compact cameras that are waterproof and shockproof. The idea is that we can always keep these cameras handy and can be taken anywhere in any weather. We've made great use of them so far and they're fun to have on the boat. Below are all Lorelei's pictures.

While at one of her substitute jobs a couple of weeks ago, Lorelei goes out on the playground and there are a bunch of Canadian Geese.

Below, on the way home from her birthday lunch, nature was putting on a cloud show, so Lorelei pulled over to snap a couple of shots.

Out on the boat a couple of weeks ago Lorelei was able to get these.

That's about all for now!

Yaquina Bay 2-2-13

We had a beautiful weather window yesterday so we headed for the coast! We caught some fish and had a great day on the water. Thanks to Lorelei for helping to take a bunch of pictures.

Christmas 2012

Dec. 24th
So we have this broken water line that Jon has been helping me with while he is home for Christmas break. On Christmas Eve I go out to work on it a bit, Adam and Jon come out to help. It's easy, just dig an 8 inch deep ditch across the yard. Well this is what happens when you try and dig in our yard.

When the boys were young we started the tradition of giving them pj's for Christmas Eve. When they got older, it was sweats, now it's more "sports apparel".
